My mum and I were due to stay in France next week at Hotel Avenir in Montmartre for my 40th birthday which was taken out last September through Alpharooms our reference number is 842679481299.
The hotel's closed currently and won't reopen till the 20th August which we found out ourselves emailing them and not through Alpharooms who think we're still going then.
I've contacted them 3 times requesting cancellation and refund then tried phoning them yesterday but no calls are being accepted. I even tried getting them through live web chat on their website but couldn't find that on their page.
My mum and I are not going next Thursday obviously but we want Alpharooms to know that also so we don't lose our money of course but without confirmation, we're not sure then which they should be reading emails and contacting customers about plus take phone calls so people can voice their concerns.
Our last two holidays to Gibraltar which were with Alpharooms went smoothly obviously with no pandemic then which I understand is uncertain for everyone but when it's not people's faults their holidays aren't going ahead due to accommodation closures customers need to know this so like from what I've read on here already consumers aren't left stranded outside hotels with younger children then.
If Eurostar can get in touch with people offering customers vouchers to change dates if things have changed or they feel unsure travelling which they did us two weeks ago then travel companies like Alpharooms should communicate also not leaving people unsure what's happening and respond to cancellation requests and have telephone lines open too if people aren't going.
