We ordered a pack of two night dresses to be sent to a friend in a nursing home which is 38 miles from where we live. The order confirmation from Damart on 3rd December gave the address of the nursing home as the delivery address. On 7th December I received despatch confirmation from Damart which said the items were 1 x PK2 NIGHTDRESS Opal Ass M but the delivery address was shown as our home address! I rang Damart immediately but they said they couldn't do anything as it had been despatched. The lady I spoke with was very apologetic and did say we could reject the parcel, but as it was Christmas we were concerned items may go out of stock so decided we would arrange to post it on ourselves. The parcel arrived on 8th December and on opening contained a 2 pack of pull on trousers!!
When I rang to speak with a representative of Damart initially the phone connection was lost and they did not ring back and on ringing again after explaining in detail that the incorrect delivery address and the incorrect items were a result of errors made by Damart I was informed that the items would be collected free of charge but they could not redeliver to the nursing home only to our address or I would have to cancel the order, they would refund the money and I would have to reorder the item to the nursing home address, no doubt having to pay a delivery charge again! Whilst I sympathise with the staff on the receiving end of the calls I find the company and its policies totally incompetent and have no faith in their service. When I asked to speak to a manger I was told that wasn't possible but someone would ring me back within 24 hours!
