I have been a loyal customer of Halifax for many years, but my recent experience has left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. If you are unfortunate enough to encounter contactless fraud, do not expect them to help you, even if you have strong, objective evidence that it wasn't you. Their lack of proper investigation, poor customer service, and refusal to acknowledge the possibility of fraud is embarrassing for a bank.
I urge anyone considering Halifax to think twice and avoid them at all costs. They sent my new credit card to my old address, sent letters to outdated email addresses which they shouldn't even store due to GDPR, and repeatedly addressed me by the wrong name.
