Received letter from Halifax about my bonus saver needing to be renewed by October. On the letter, it gave options for logging in, telephone banking or to book an appointment at branch. Decided to go to the bank, was told that even though there is an option to book appointments, they do not do this anymore and soon the option will be removed from correspondence!! So, I phoned Halifax, bright and early next morning, to be told I should renew the bonus saver closer to the date. So, why did they send out a letter clearly stating that "I could renew at any time I want and will get the interest rate on the day I choose to do this", their wording. A total waste of time, both occasions I have dealt with Halifax this week. They used to be a good bank, with very nice staff, but now they seem to have no time for people who do not want internet banking. I presume if we all had internet banking, staff would not have to deal with customers anymore.
