I sent a 1859 Georgian chimney pot, well padded in industrial bubble wrap and cardboard and marked as FRAGILE through DPD. As you can see from the pictures, it arrived in pieces. This was a single piece of solid stone, with no cracks, but I marked it as fragile so that extra care would be taken.
As you can see from the pictures it was obviously dropped or not secured in the van and allowed to fall/roll around during transit and the shards punctured the protective wrapping. How else would a solid piece of stone end up like this?
A piece of of history now in pieces.
I note that the driver did not have it signed for, I wonder why?
