I managed the parking entry ok: I had pre-booked and pre-paid, was recognised at the barrier and issued with a ticket found the bay and bus-stop with no problem. The bus stops were well indicated so got back to my car ok on return. The problem was that I was not recognised getting out of the car park, my ticket was not accepted and I wasn't sure how to cope. The phone in the kiosk by the exit barrier didn't seem to work at first, and I really was panicking that I wouldn't be able to get away. Eventually I did get a response from the phone, and was told what to do, but the button I was told to press on the barrier was not well marked and in the dusk was not that easy to spot. When I did locate it and got through I was feeling very panicky and a bit annoyed. I had not used an automated system before, previously I had checked in and out with people who knew the system. Given the choice, I would prefer the old system even if it did mean queueing. Maybe a compromise would be automated entry and assisted exit. By the time I got out it was dark and foggy and I was quite frightened which I could do without after a day travelling and a five hour drive to come.
