The blue version of this product lists the material as ABS plastic, which is body safe, but since it was out of stock I bought the black one. I didn't think to check, but the black version lists the material as PVC, which is "porous material that cannot be sterilized." This is confirmed on the packaging. Not great for something that's supposed to go in your butt, or anywhere in your body. It's my fault for not double-checking, but had I not seen the different colour listed as ABS I wouldn't have bought a product that isn't actually safe for its intended purpose. There is also a seam running the length of the tube, where two halves have been stuck together. It's not sharp, but could still be enough to irritate delicate tissue.
