I am confined to a power wheelchair but have the ability to walk a few steps while holding on to something sturdy. As I tried to transfer to my bed, I slipped down on the floor. I was not hurt, however, I am not able to get back into my chair once I am on the floor. My first contact on the list, who lives in my guest apartment was called. As he was getting dressed and coming over to my part of the house, EMS arrived. It was just a matter of a few minutes. The EMTs asked a few questions and helped me get into my bed. It is certainly a comfort to have the button, and to have immediate assistance. Messages were left with my two other contacts, who checked with me later in the day.
