We bought the Large Big Green Egg as a joint Xmas present. We were given a free Kelly Bronze turkey with the purchase. Our first attempt with the BGE was to cook the turkey on Xmas day. I watched some videos on how to operate the BGE prior to use. My first impression was the build quality is really good. It arrived on the day it should and the driver even put the pallet straight into the garage for us. Lighting the egg is not comparable to a normal BBQ. It works every time with just two small lighters and nothing else. Getting the temperature you require and keeping it once you put you food in is taking some practice, but it's just a case of opening and closing the top and bottom vents to get the temperature you require. This is not a BBQ, it's an outdoor oven and we treat it as such. So far we have cooked, turkey, joint of pork, smoked pork vindaloo, roast chicken and a rib of beef. I would happily recommend this product for its quality, ease of use and the ability to reuse the coals not quite burned from last time.
