I recently fractured my ankle in two places and struggled for two weeks with the crutches supplied by the hospital, they caused great discomfort in my right shoulder. As I'm non weight bearing for 6-8 weeks I was desperate to find an alternative. It was whilst searching for a knee scooter that I came across the i-walk 2.0. I watched the videos online and thought it would be better than the knee scooter. It was promptly delivered to my door and I set about getting mobile again. It is simply brilliant. Easy to assemble and fine tune, within 5 minutes I was walking around the house doing normal things again, it makes such a difference having your hands free! I ventured to the supermarket on day 3 and found the only draw back was that my weight was pressing on the top of my shin bone where my cast ends. This made it really painful after about 5 minutes. Not to be beaten by it I cut down a knee pad that I normally use for work and placed it on top of the i-walk knee pad. Problem solved as my full weight is now taken by my knee and no weight is on my shin bone. I can now walk around pain free for long periods. I am due to go on a cruise holiday this week and feel really confident that the i-walk is the perfect item to make the holiday possible, the crutches are unstable and a wheelchair would be cumbersome. I would certainly recommend the i-walk to anyone with a lower limb injury, it's comfortable and stable to use, even though I have had to slightly adapt it for my personal situation.
