This was unfortunate. An adjustable bed was ordered for mum who has dementia. The online process, payment and delivery notifications went well. However on the day of delivery I received a call and the driver said I hope you are feeling strong. When asked why he replied there was only one of them on the van and that he would be there shortly. Generally if somebody is buying an adjustable bed there is a reason like bad back etc. Driver turned up in a sign written Bedworld van and he was trying to grab people in the street to get the bed in - the people were declining. I managed to get my sister to help lift the bed. I was furious 1) because the driver was trying to invite strangers into the home of an elderly person with dementia 2) because when the lorry was loaded they would have known that it was a two person plus job so why send one guy! 3) there were no instructions on how to set the bed up 4) the staff had no knowledge on how to set the bed up. When I tried to call later in the day I could get no response from head office it just rang. I called a shop and managed to get the MDs email address. He did come back and I requested that he refund the delivery. However when asked about the set up of the bed he also assumed you just plugged it in. Not the case, I had to get help from elsewhere and there was no way it would have worked with just plug in. You had to take end panels off and then reattach - it wasn't obvious. I did not expect to have to load and unload a lorry when I had paid for delivery to front door.....this one was not even coming off the lorry without our help. It really was not a very nice experience. The bed itself seems fine now set up.
