You were let down by your delivery service.
They left the box with the beers on the doorstep of the house, no attempt was made to alert the occupants/recipients, no card through the door and the goods were left in plain sight on the doorstep, this was a row of terraced houses where they were easily seen by passers by. Very, very fortunate that they weren't taken.
