We visited this store and others in Milton Keynes a week ago to look at Ottoman Beds to get an idea of prices and quality, if possible; this was the first we visited. We wandered in and began looking around then a store employee came over to offer help. He seemed to know what he was talking about and we told him what we were looking for. We didn’t mention prices but, to be honest, their prices seemed rather steep but we wanted to see just what they had to offer. In truth I suppose we should have given a price range but it’s been years since we bought a bed and that was cheap and cheerful because we didn’t have a lot then. Worryingly there didn’t seem much on show that wasn’t under £800 because it’s all priced as bed, mattress, headboard and so on so it all mounts up. We were shown just one bed that seemed to fit what we were looking for but my main concern was that this bed seemed to take the sales person some considerable effort to close the Ottoman “lid” back down and it was well over £1000 altogether. We politely concluded our visit to talk it over but we’d virtually decided outside that they too expensive and not really suitable for two pensioners to deal with even if it was only about once a month because it seemed too heavy and unwieldy. It’s a shame because the furniture in the store looks the part but it’s so very expensive and beneath the fancy fabrics etc. most of these soft furnishings are made of cheap materials.
