Be aware!!!
I Booked a one way flight from Portland to Moline, Illinois at a good price. Later on received an email saying my ticket was pending, and that there was no price guarantee. My card had not been charged. I called them. They told me to be patient and it would take 4 to 5 hours. I called again and was told they could see my ticket purchase and someone would call and check on me but be patient. It would take 4 to 5 hours.
I was called by Gavin. I was then told that I am on a promotional ticket and would not be allowed to take any luggage, no carry one with me on the flight or even check a bag. Not even if i wanted to pay for a bag in the hold. Gavin and I had a running conversation about the terms of my purchase. He said he check with the airline to see what he could do.
What he would do for me was upgrade my ticket for another $200+ each or get my on a different flight for twice the price I paid. I asked for a cancellation to no avail. He told me I had bought the tickets even though my credit card had not been charged yet. I asked him for a confirmation number, which thankfully he gave me. Then I called United. I had an 2 economy tickets.
United said it sounds like you are getting scammed, as no problem taking a bag.
I never received a confirmation email from them. Thank Goodness I got the confirmation number in my phone conversation with Gavin. This was a 6 hour ordeal. However, I did get my tickets at a greatly reduced price, but I’m not sure the anxiety and the hassle were worth it. Lesson
