Beware of their House Clearance policy!
Order #700E32-B240772855
I had inherited my Aunt's house, sold it and arranged for BHF to do the house clearance for me. I had already disposed of nearly all the rubbish and taken carloads to the local Hospice Charity Shop so anticipated that barring some furniture which did not have the requisite fire labels that they would be able to sell what they collected.
The guys arrived on the set day/time and were very friendly and polite and I have no quarrel with them, they got on with the job and were no problem at all.
What so annoyed me and nearly broke my heart was when I saw them throwing my Aunt's crystal vases, plates, glasses and other really beautiful things in the huge wheelie bin they brought into the house - their explanation being that 'they can't sell them'.
If only I'd known this was going to happen I would have sought the house clearance from another charity. My Aunt had really good quality possessions and to see them trashed in such a way was appalling.
I have complained to the BHF but apart from some platitudes have received no decent explanation.
