You are still responsible for the extra customs duties and so on. Local goods always take at least a week to get to me. Although bidorbuy can resolve most issues with sellers, there have been times they have been unable to assist and I have had to resolve the problem on my own... Then theres ebay Many items can be bought and shipped in where all costs thereof are clearly stated and the process is pain free. Everytime there has been an issue with a seller ebay stepped in and resolved the issue. The customer is king and you are protected full stop, no questions asked. Amazon is my favourite. Theres a reason why Jeff Bezos is the world's richest man. Amazon is head and shoulders above the rest in terms of service. If I choose the fast shipping option, items always arrive within a week to 9 days. Every time. I have more often had items from amazon ship, clear customs and get to me faster than bidorbuy. Again, all costs are clearly stated and the process is pain free. If customs duties are more than what was charged, amazon will pay the excess. If it is less than stated, they refund the difference back to your card... I have to also mention that ebay and amazon are both mostly cheaper than buying off bidorbuy and takealot. I do believe in supporting local, but at this stage and after 2 decades of bidorbuy being operational, they would be able to outperform local deliveries against amazon which is much further away.
