My long garden hose developed a leak in it about one foot from the output end. I needed a new fitting on the end of the longer piece of hose, so I ordered this replacement fitting. It is machined from solid brass, and the threaded end is nice and thick so that it will not deform. There were no instructions that came along with this fitting, but I was able to determine which end of the threaded nut should go onto the new hose after inserting the male feature into the hose and then threading the nut onto the male end. I removed the sharp edges of the threaded nut as it was cutting into the hose as I tried to install it. Then I used some lubricant on the threads and outside of the hose to help get the threaded nut installed onto the mating piece of the new fitting end. It has been working well, and isn't leaking even when I have the water pressure of 75 psi turned on and the water nozzle turned off. Now I can water my garden without the leak in the hose getting me all wet from the hole in the hose. Hopefully this will allow me to use this long water hose for many more years.
