bought a car in March 2024.
Nothing but endless trouble and big motoring world seem to be good at hiding from problems after the sales complete.
Tyre pressure light came on 10 mins after leaving the showroom. Returned the car had to book it in (a month later).
Engine management light then come on within 3 weeks.
LED headlights faulty in which I was told before taking the car it was an easy bulb change and to be later told by a garage when I went to change that only KIA can change it they are bespoke to the car. 100s of pound.
They were happy to book the car in but couldn’t do it until a month later then of course couldn’t find anything major faulty and suggested it go to KIA under manufacture warranty. KIA insisting that has to be paid for when I arrived if not covered.
A trip back to big motoring world to be told they would book it in and cover the costs with KIA but in the meantime rest assured the car is fine …. Tyre pressure is fine it’s just a fault, not understanding with the light been on if something did happen to my tyres I wouldn’t know because the lights always on which could cause significant harm to myself and young children.
It’s gone in to KIA today who have been great and sympathised with my situation but explained it won’t all be covered under warranty. They are happy to assist with what’s under warranty (if anything is) but the extra things will cost and when they have tried to contact big motoring world the email they have provided bounces back. Also they’ve found a major recall on KIAS so told me they need my car for 5 days and they can’t provide a curtesy as it was big motoring world who booked it (of course big motoring world can’t help me with this either and until big motoring world have paid I won’t get the car released to me! I have had to HIRE a car and of course the leeds branch do not return calls.
I am on day 53 my car finance complaint and day 80 since I first complained to big motoring world in which I said from the start if it can’t be fixed it will be a rejection and refund. Black horse (finance) have supported me very well and as the car is still not fixed and I have given them an attempt to fix it and notify them I have now just rejected the car under the 30 day consumer right act 2015.
I will also be having to claim compensation for subsequential loss - wasted fuel, work time, phone calls, hiring a vehicle to get my young children about.
My advice would be to read the reviews properly & pay more for a dealership who care when you leave the show room too.
