UPDATE- 200 point inspection isn't even worth the paper it's wrote on. Sold a car that wouldn't pass an MOT due to an issue that should be on this inspection. You ask for prove it's been done and long behold, they don't have any!
The service started off okay. The sales rep was lovely and if it wasn't for her this awful experience would have been worse!
Was there for over 8 hours to purchase the car (red flags should have been waving high at this point!) And 4 hours to collect a car that was 'ready to drive away'.
The car was a disability car which meant that I cannot tax it wothout going to the post office instead of advising this at my appointment time 6:30pm I was not told this until 8.30 at night after the post office had closed. I had already transferred my insurance from my old car to my new car while sitting there on my 2 hour wait so no way of getting home, at this point the sales manager then said "legally we can't let you drive away in the vehicle without road tax but we also won't stop you from taking your car" do you think that the sales manager would have also taken the points on his licence for me if I were to be pulled over? Or pay for the car to be recovered from a police impound lot? The alternative option I was given was that I could get a taxi home and come back the next day as though I would trust that these people were intelligent enough not to misplace 2 cars and the £5000 cash I had paid? I wouldn't trust them to change a light bulb.
If you buy from them, please don't expect it to be simple or easy as it's far from! Speaking with other customers in the lengthly wait, they had the same issues as me!
12 hours to buy a car is not acceptable.
Speaking with their sales guys during one of the lengthly waits and they get extra commission on the after sale products and finance, so they are very pushy with this.
The xguard cover they offer at £700 can be purchased for £20 a bottle to apply yourself.
They advise their cars are ready to drive away and it is hassle free, I'd love to know whether the advertising standards association (ASA) would consider this experience hassle free?
