They seem to just be amplifiers. They seal so tightly in my ear that all I hear is my own breathing and talking. If I pull them back, it's slightly better. If I turn them down, they don't help. I set them fairly low as is. Not sure if I can use them or if they'll get theism in the junk drawer.
