Calumet seem to be the last of the Highstreet Photographers. In my early days as a photographer every town had a camera shop which employed photographers who knew about cameras and photography. Now, sadly, with instant, digital photography, most of them seem to have vanished and have been replaced with bland stores concentrating on sales figures. Calumet is virtually the last of the real camera shops. During my last visit I was treated as a person, had a lively discussion on the subject of variable ND filters, given some useful advice and a coffee and relieved of over £1300. None of those would have happened in one of the other shops!
