I was looking to purchase a 2002 Avalanche for $5000 that had 129k miles on it . It was a great price for the truck and it drove out nice but something seemed strange .I wrote down the vin and I told the seller I would get back with him the next morning . I came home and purchased CAR FAX and am so very glad I did , this 129k miles had been 142k miles back in 2008 , not good . I didn't know you could turn back a digital odometer . I learned that it could be done but that wasn't the case . The entire dashboard with the cluster had been changed . CAR FAX saved me $5000 . After that if I could not get the information from the seller to run a CAR FAX I didn't even go look at it .THANKS CARFAX !!!
