Looking at a 2003 VW Beetle for my daughter, car had been repainted, carfax uncovered a total loss by the insurance company, 4 years ago. So I ask the dealer about the repaint, he tells me it was a southern car, had a bit of sun damage, they repainted the whole thing. So I ask him if he means southern Wisconsin, because car spent its whole life there. He didn't have much to say after that, and my wife thought I was rude. Ha, car fax saves the day.
