I encountered what I thought was a great purchase. This vehicle had low mileage for the year it was manufactured. I was close to signing the pink slip as a friend suggested we do a car fax, then with the CARFAX realized this vehicle's odometer was set to over 100K under the original mileage. CARFAX saved me from purchasing a defective vehicle. Never again will I make a private purchase without a CARFAX.
