I used Carfax to verify the ownership and mileage of a 2001 Honda Civic advertised on Craigs list in Sacramento. The Carfax indicated that the mileage was actually about 40,000 more than the car odometer which had been rolled back. Also the seller had not registered the car in his name and had been driving it for about a year without current registration and insurance. We did not buy this car thanks to Carfax. MAA
