I'm very thankful for Carfax. I've purchased a carfax on March 27, 2013 (thank goodness that I did). Through the carfax, I discovered a 2006 Toyota Highlander that I had purchased from a dealer (yes, a dealer. I called them scum bags!!!!) They'd rolled the speed odometer from 189,000 miles to 96,000 miles. It was the price that they sold the car to me that makes me wanted to buy a carfax (I smelled fish). Also, the car has been in an accident too. So, now, I returned the car and got my money back. I'm in the process of turning these scums to the DMV, I wanted to stop them from hurting someone else. You see, not every one buy cars with a carfax. Through the carfax, I also found out so many people selling they cars online with ROLLED BACK speed odometers and NEVER DISCLOSED that they car had been involved in an accident, until I told them it shows in carfax. I remembered one guy even acted very surprise and said to me "really? Accident?" I told him, he should be pursuing his career in acting, because, he was so good at lying. He even had a nerve to laugh at my remarks. Wow, what an eye opening experience that I had encountered this pass month, all thanks to carfax. And I can tell you, my money was WELL spent!!! I would NEVER buy a car without a carfax from now on. Thank you carfax, keep up with your good work!!!!! I'd love your guys advertise slogan....... DON'T BUY A CAR WITHOUT A CARFAX....... Absolutely, 110% !!!!! And ..........SHOW ME THE CARFAX. I also wanted to come to your guys defense. I recalled, not too long ago. I've saw it on ABC7 20/20 special report (I'm in Southern California), that they were criticizing the effectiveness of a carfax report. Someone had bought a car with a carfax, but the carfax failed to show that the car had involved in a major accident. And they were challenging you guys about your slogan "show me the carfax". Well, that's totally ridiculous. If the owner of the car, did not report the accident to DMV, most likely, they did not have a insurance coverage (in most cases, the insurance company are the one that reports to DMV). Even through by law, every one has involved in an accident (amount over $750) they have to report it to DMV. But, let's face it............NOT ALL PEOPLE ARE LAW ABIDING CITIZEN. Also, by reporting the accident, they insurance premium would be increase. So, my point is, if people did not report the accident to DMV, how on earth is carfax going to be able to obtain any accident information? I thought for a major TV station to challenging your company on "show me the carfax" slogan was totally STUPID!!!! The carfax is a good tool to help people to be more aware of the most of the cars on the market, but never will be perfect. Nothing is perfect!!! Besides, for the small amount of money that people spend on carfax (I was paid $54.99 for one month) I thought, my resulted was a total GODSEND to me. Again, thank you.
