Carfax is essential for buying a used car. I was looking for a 2004 LR Discovery, a relatively rare and frequently unloved vehicle. I was pretty picky-no accidents, low mileage, consistent dealer service, and preferably one owner. Believe it or not, people will not be totally honest when selling a vehicle. I bought a subscription to Carfax and ran all potentials through it. I was able to winnow the field down, separate truth from fiction, and finally acquired the perfect vehicle. Carfax was invaluable in the process and I would not be comfortable going through the process without it.
