When I am in the market to purchase a vehicle. I always open an account with Carfax. After getting a vehicle VN or license plate number, a Carfax report gives me all the information about a vehicle that I need to make a smart decision. It shows the origin, numbers of owners, and most important, it shows the number of accidents that have been recorded on the vehicle. It also tells you whether the vehicle has a salvage title and provide a formula to calculate for vehicle with salvage titles so you don't over pay.
