I don't buy a car before I run a carfax report now. It started when I bought a Toyota pick up without checking it first. A couple days later I found out the frame was completely rusted out. I tried to give it back to the guy that sold it to me but he wouldn't take it. I talked to an attorney and told him that I also suspected that the miles had been lowered. He told me to run the carfax report and that if they did then I might had a chance of suing. I did run the report and it turned out they lowered over 100,000 miles. Unfortunately the truck was over ten years old and the government don't care about cars ten years or older. So there was nothing I could do, I had too partout the truck to make some of the 3,000 I pay for it. Since then I found 2 more cars the miles had been lowered, thanks to carfax I didn't buy them. People buy cars in the actions cheap with high miles then they lowered them and sell the car for a big profit.
