While we were changing out 2 cars and each time before we bought a car that we thought we wanted to purchase, we checked the carfax. It saved us on 3 occasions. Craigslist said that 2 of the cars had clean titles. Just before purchasing them we pulled the carfax to find they were actually salvage titles. Another car we almost purchased had 79k miles. Just before we purchased, we pulled the carfax and found out it had last been repaired with 189k miles, so we knew the miles had been rolled back. Carfax truly saved us and gave us peace of mind when we did make sound purchases and the cars have been great!
