I have come to use carfax when looking at used cars. It is the best insurance policy you can have. I learned the hard way from buying what I thought would be a highly collectable car in the past. I had bought a 40th anniversary corvette convertible from a supposed reputable collector car dealer. This was before carfax was popular. I had no issues with the car but in recent shopping I bought your unlimited package and once I checked the perspective cars I decided to just run the report on my collector car. It was the classic example of what not to buy it was totaled engine and transmission replaced title was scrubbed clean by the dealer it was odometer fixed and just about every warning lit up bright red. My world of expected value growth crashed down around me when I realized I had such issues with the car. Just proves the value of always check the carfax and I always do now.
