I was planning on buying a Jeep Cherokee that looked like it was in amazing condition. well I did a CARFAX and found out that 1. it was a rental car in NEW YORK, mind you I live in California. 2. the guy told me there was only one previous owner and Carfax told me that it had at LEAST 8 previous owners. 3. The guy told me that he put in a new motor because that was supposed to bring the value UP when in fact CARFAX told me that the reason he had to get a new motor is because it was under water at some point. 4. The guy also told me that the sound I was hearing was from putting in new and more expensive tires when in fact Carfax told me that it was salvaged because of a car accident that damaged the axles and much more!! pretty much I almost bought a vehicle that was overpriced by DOUBLE and I almost put my two boys in a car that was very unsafe to drive. my family and I were going to be in great danger if we were to have bought this garbage vehicle. I owe my children's lives and my life to CARFAX. thanks to you I avoided buying something that would have been the biggest mistake of my life and could have possibly caused harm to my family.
