My son and I had been looking for a car since he turned 16. We started out looking at dealerships predominately, but every time we found something he liked, it was over our budget. So, we decided to start searching on craigslist. Knowing that we would need some history of each car, I bought a package from Car Fax, so each time we would want to see a car, we would have the owner fax us the VIN number so we could do a background check.
