When looking for a new platform bed, I knew I wanted made in the USA. I was fortunate to find Carolina Leg Company. I loved the Hudson because of its simple clean design; and I was impressed with the workmanship of their other offerings. I love that the wood is harvested nearby and that it's a small US company. Also, I loved the fast, friendly responses I received (from a real person!) when i reached out a couple of times with questions. Shipping was fast and free. The bed pieces arrived in 2 boxes and were well packed and protected. Everything was nicely sanded and smooth. I chose to do a light, protective, nontoxic finish consisting of linseed oil and beeswax. My husband put the bed together himself in a very short time while I did other things. We liked the way the slats fit right in to the sides of the frame without having to fasten them. The bed is very solid and sturdy and looks absolutely beautiful.
