Bought my wife a Samsung Galaxy S4 at Xmas on 2 yr contract in Curry/Carphone W at Longwell Green branch.
2 weeks later the screen went so we returned it and it was sent off for repair.
Email received saying it's out of warranty as the screen is broken.
As we had only had it 2 weeks, and the phone has been in a protective case the whole time, and not dropped or damaged in any way, we naturally assumed they would do the right thing and honour their warranty. WRONG.
As I confidently expected they then set about trying to weasel their way out of any contractual obligation saying their hands were tied and there was nothing they could do about it........ unless of course I wished to cough up £169.99 and then they would happppily fix it !
Complaints Dept less than useless, and simply wash their hands of my problem.
As I pointed out, Carphone Warehouse have a vested interest in making any problem the customers fault, thereby ridding themselves of any costs involded and placing the onus squarely on the customer to sort (and at their expense)
Currently in dialogue with Samsung to try and get this resolved, but will never use Carphone Warehouse for anything again and shall switch to a proper company once my contract expires.
