I have a UK driving licence but am currently living abroad. This is a problem when companies ask for recent bank statements and utility bills as proof of UK residence. There does not seem to be a way around this and it leaves people relying on the discretion of the person drawing up the contract or their line manager. I would prefer to hire a car without this uncertainty. Thanks.
