I regret trusting the car shop. I have had a truely upsetting and stressful aftercare experience. I chose to buy from CarShop Norwich as I wanted a reliable trustworthy car dealership as I know nothing about cars. I now feel all they care about is selling you the car and all the extras they can and then give you zero afterthought.
I bought a car and warranty package and other extras in 2019. These were sold to me with the comfort of knowing the CarShop would look after me if things went wrong. I was told I could bring my car to them and any problems would be fixed and most things would be covered in my warranty package.
My car has had problem after problem the most recent being an electrical fault with my handbrake that CarShop couldn’t fix and simply told me to “go to a specialist”. I had already been and spent money at 2 specialist garages who couldn’t find the fault and said to take it back to the dealer. After much stress in finding someone I had to take my car to Essex to be fixed and I have now been told my 3 year warranty is void as my car was 2 months late for its service - they didn’t care about COVID or the fact it’s taken my 6 months to find a garage that could fix my car fault.
I was never told by CarShop when they sold me the warranty about the need for 12 month services. I would have of course had these if I knew so not to void my plan. I appreciate it is in the TandCs but I feel like this important piece of information should be verbally communicated. I called the CarShop today to ask for help they basically told me it wasn’t there problem and I should have read my TandCs
I’ve now got a £900 bill to pay. I cannot explain the stress and upset this has caused me. I feel completely ripped off by the CarShop and wouldn’t recommend them to anybody. They need to take greater care as a “trusted seller” when selling these expensive warranty packages instead of making them seem so helpful.
