The car store is very welcoming and its great that they have ice cream juice etc for the kids. The playarea for the kids is also ideal for the kids to keep them busy while you are buying the car. We went in to see the cars on Tuesday 10th April and were introduced to Sean who was our salesman. Sean was great throughout the process and cannot be faulted with any of the sale process. We went through the paperwork and were contacted later that evening to say the finance was agreed which was great. At the sales stage Sean told us that it would be roughly a week for delivery as the car was in the Aberdeen showroom which we were happy with. The following week on the Tuesday which was a week I called to find out what was happening and Sean told us that there was a delay and it would be in at the latest Thursday. Sean then called me on the Thursday which was his day off to say he had called into the transporter and the car hadn't arrived and said he would up date me later that day, I heard nothing more that day but called in to peter vardy and asked for a manger to call me back but heard nothing. By this time I was getting frustrated as no one could tell me the whereabouts of the car. On the Friday morning Sean called me to advise that there had been a mix up and the car would definitely be there on the Saturday at 1.00pm. I called in on the Saturday at 1.00pm and Sean called me back at 2.00 to say that the car had arrived and we went at 5pm to view the car. When we viewed the car on the Saturday at 5pm it hadn't been cleaned or valeted and was in a rather dirty state. I understand that this car was just delivered but I would have expected it to be clean given the price we are paying for the car and also the time we waited. By this time the excitement and buzz from buying a new car was definitely gone. On the Monday I got a call from Sean to say that they would do their best to fast track the car through the workshop and would keep us posted but gave us the Friday for collection. This was not really acceptable however we went ahead. On the Monday we got a call from Andy in Handover team to advise that they were trying to get the car to us on the Tuesday, then we got a call on the Tuesday to say it would be as quick as they could as things needed done to the car. We got a call on the Wednesday to say it would be the Friday. We went in on the Friday to pick up the car. The girl from the handover team was great and cant fault her service however the seats were still soaking wet and they had to put covers on the seats. There was still scrapes to the front right alloy and the front bumper which has now been booked in to be fixed. There is no way the car had been valeted to showroom standard which we were advised would be the case, there were sticky marks inside the car and the windows inside were all marked plus the alloy wheels were still marked with break dust. This is not acceptable as we would not have purchased the car had it been like that in the showroom. Overall this has not been a pleasant experience for us and especially not the service we would have expected from such a large company. We bought two cars in the space of 1 week and the experience was not pleasant and will not be using Peter Vardy again. Not once did we get a call from a member of management to explain the delay in the vehicle being delivered or to apologise for the inconvenience. The sales part of the process I have no complaints and Sean gave us a great service. The aftersales was a shambles.
