The lack of reviews for Chappell Digital Marketing should have been my first red flag. Being a business owner, I know what it takes to provide excellent customer service and I refuse to work with or patronize businesses that do not have the same values that I hold. That was my first mistake of a string of misguided decisions when it comes to Chappell.
My husband and I have an e-commerce brand that we needed help with when it came to running Meta ads. We’ve done it on our own and also had our fair share of “top producing ad agencies” who did nothing but disappoint. We thought things would be different with Chappell but boy were we wrong. A week prior to Chappell touching our ad accounts, we had ROAs on multiple campaigns of 2.7 up to 4.5 with solid results that we expected them to scale. With no exaggeration, the FIRST DAY they started changing things in our ads account, it completely tanked all of our highest performing campaigns and set everything back to the learning stage. When we approached our account manager about this, they denied any wrongdoing. This was our second mistake as we should’ve foreseen the grim future with our partnership with Chappell off that first mistake alone.
We have yet to recover our account to pre Chappell days and we have been bleeding money for WEEKS. We provide them with countless creatives for them to only use 2 or 3. We’ve given them the blueprint of past campaigns for present day promotions only for them to ignore it and say “we thought you were simply sharing past wins.” Why would I do that? It’s called guidance because clearly it’s needed in this business relationship with Chappell. They’ve turned off very profitable ad campaigns and replaced them with endless testing with ROAs that barely break even. Anything we tell them simply goes in one ear and out the other. We’ve had more rejected ads in the past month than we have in the past two years prior to dealing with them. We’ve had to proactively remove them from all accounts even though we’ve paid for ads management for the month of June…in an effort to prevent anymore damage and money lost.
I tried to resolve this directly with Chappell but our account manager is on vacation this week and we can only talk to our media buyer which is the source of most of our problems. They make all of these promises to close the sale and then pass you off to account managers and media buyers who are just not qualified to handle certain accounts. Avoid at all costs. Maybe this review will motivate a team member to respond to our issues and wishes to terminate this contract. Whatever you see on TikTok or Facebook, take it with a grain of salt. We truly thought we found the agency we would be with for the long haul., but they’re just another team of over promisers who under delivered at a hefty agency price.
