Visiting the Chilton showrooms in Scarborough and Freeport has always been a special treat. Over the past few years though, I have been able to purchase some items from Chilton, in one case a custom made item (desk). All items will be special heirlooms that will stay with my adult children down the road. The woods are beautiful and of highest quality, as are all materials used. The sales staff at Chilton are always cordial, and most importantly, honest in providing all requested information. No one would argue that Chilton's products are cheap in either sense of the word. You get what you pay for, which is beautiful, unique and high-quality home furnishings. Most of their products are made locally in northern New England and of highest quality woods. I've usually picked up my purchases on site when visiting in the area as opposed to having them delivered because I do not live nearby. The exceptions to this were purchases of small non wood items made by affiliated craftspersons, and these were delivered safely and in timely fashion. The staff always remembers who you are when you phone regarding a purchase. In short, excellent quality, excellent customer service, beautiful furnishings you and your family will be able to treasure across generations.
