The Shaker Heirloom Table is a solidly built and very nice quality piece of furniture. I purchased the 36 x 60 version of the table and it is generously sized to seat 4. If we had to we could could accomodate a tight 6 on occasions but be aware that the more inset of the legs will not allow us to house 6 chairs permanently slide under the table, despite the the table top being technically large enough. As a note, the standard shaker table with it's legs positioned closer to the table would likely be better if you wanted to permanent 6 chair dining table on the 36" x 60" version. Thats said the heirloom is more solidly built due to it's thicker tabletop (1.25" vs .75") and legs (2" vs 1.5") and more durable finish (conversion varnish vs. lacquer) means the table should last a lifetime and probably then some.
