I would definitely recommend this for all planting purposes.
It is a "green" material, ie we're not depleting nature's limited stocks,
(it's not like peat compost, - when it's all used up there'll be no more).
I make up different mixes using it with sand / perlite/ vermiculite / non-peat compost, (home made) etc. different combinations for different things like, tropical plants, seed compost mix, general compost and so on, it's used are endless.
