I was not forewarned that because the list price of the car that I purchased was a fraction more than £40,000 I would have an additional £410 of Vehicle Tax to pay each year for the first 5 years (making £590 per annum - a total of £2,050 more than I was expecting to pay). In fact I did get wind of this but the salesman assured me that as the price paid just under £40,000 the extra vehicle tax would not apply. They also were very unhelpful with regard to arranging the special deal of £299 for the first 3 services and 3 years Breakdown cover and it was several months before the 3 years of servicing certificate arrived. I have still had no details of the Breakdown cover and had to consult a screenshot and the head office website when I needed to take advantage of the cover. The car itself is lovely but had I been properly advised of the extra Vehicle tax I would not have proceeded with buying this model (or done without some of the extras if that had been possible to ensure that the official list price that is confirmed by Subaru to DVLC stayed below £40,000).
