Initial contact was via the Edinburgh store for a Ping Rapture.Only to be told this was an old club and definitely not available . I had the webpage actually open only to be told I had an old website open. The individual was less than helpful, almost to the point of being rude that I inquired about a club that was not available and not on the current web page.
I was somewhat bewildered and actually annoyed to the point that I contacted the main office. I was put through to the Ping specialist who confirmed that there is such a club and current in website. After detailed discussion established a correct fit for me and the club was in stock I placed my order. The specialist was patient, most courteous and extremely knowledgeable about the product. I received excellent "5 star service or best practice" eventually but could have easily have went to a competitor if I had taken the first contact at face value.
Not ideal for a £300 club purchase I suggest, which I received the next day I may add as a result of this specialist who demonstrated sincere care about me and my eventual purchase.
I accept that it is not possible to know every product in your vast website.However It is not good customer service and potential loss of sales ,if a customer is given wrong advice in spite of explaining that the product was on your site. But more importantly left feeling somewhat annoyed and being treated dismissively. Just as well I was diligent in my pursuit, otherwise lost sale and possible future business could have been the outcome.
Luckily your specialist recovered my faith in Direct Golf as an outlet for my golf purchases.
My sincere apologies for the detailed commentary,but I believed it worthy of note that Caveat Emptor should always be exercised coupled with diligent and determined sourcing.
