Ordered a wonderful extending round table and chose Saturday delivery at extra cost of £25. A few days later was contacted by delivery company to discuss suitable del date. I told them of my Sat delivery but they stated they had not received this instruction from Home Direct but they offered a midweek delivery at a time I would accept. I contacted Home Direct to ask for refund of £25 but was told the extra was due to my location (Glasgow). I told them their websites states FREE UK delivery (with exception of Highlands and Islands as usual). They stated their small print that mentions they would process order and contact clients if excess del charge would apply. My order had processed fine with a nice call from Home Direct thanking me for the order and with NO mention of additional charge. Mike from Home Direct then came up with an excuse that they have problems with their web ordering page!!!! I tried ordering today out of curiosity and still offer free delivery to my postcode so I am sorry Home Direct I believe you should honour your contracted invoice which I have notified Trading Standards about. If you had only been honest up front regarding excess charge for delivery to one of the UK's biggest city's then I would have been fine............. Not a company I will deal with again........
