Buying a suite of furniture online can be a risky business and I've made mistakes in the past. So I called MDM to see if I could visit and checkout the Oliver Jacobs Chesterfield suite in advance of placing my order. We met Mark who not only showed us the product but also took us on a quick tour of the factory and showed us the components used in manufacture. The sub-frames are very sturdy and the padding, cushioning, foams and fabrics are all of extremely high quality. They make the Chesterfields using traditional methods and do everything in-house which is rare and very pleasing in this day and age and Mark is passionate about providing quality and seemed proud to be providing great service and local employment. And he should be. The product is very high quality and extremely comfortable. The fabrics used (faux leather in our case) are warm and well fitted with no slipping. The trim is well fitted and carefully applied and the wooden feet compliment the fabric and look really high quality. The whole thing looks great in our living room and we could be happier. In order to provide a balanced review I feel I should point out the negatives also but these are minimal and can be rectified easily... We decided on a dark brown faux but this was not available on the website with the studded trim that we wanted so were advised to order the Vintage Brown Studded and send a message to accompany the order. I think we received the Vintage Brown fabric instead of the Dark Brown but as it happens it looks great so we're happy with our delivery as is. An update to the website would fix this. Our delivery was made very late at night (after 9pm) which is not ideal when you live in the country where it gets very dark at night but again, it was the week prior to Xmas and we live in a remote area so this is extremely justifiable. To summarise, we got a great deal (a sale price of less than £800 for a 3 seater and 2 seater Chesterfield suite) and it's truly excellent quality, very well made and very comfortable. We are delighted with our purchase and would recommend MDM to anyone.
