I had a very mixed experience as a landlord. Before and during the tenancy some staff were nice and competent, others were not.
Daniel Walker was my contact person for a while and I found working with him stressful and upsetting.
The worst was after the tenants moved out. The person who checked the flat didn't notice that one wall was soaking wet because of the tenants spraying water on the bathroom wall on the other side when there were cracks in the grouting. The checkouts team forgot to submit a claim for compensation from the deposit fund for this and other things. When I asked them about compensation they pretended that it was still possible to make a claim when it was not and I wasted a lot of time on a phone call and a long email exchange with them. I later found out from the deposit scheme that the deadline for claiming compensation had passed before I did these things. In particular, Allison Pearson's behaviour was extraordinary.
However, I made a complaint which was dealt with in a reasonable way and I was given compensation by DJA.
