Thank you so much for your useful course. Last year we completed an inpatient lifestyle program that helped up do our whole plant based life style better. We have been plant-based for about 15 years. Appreciated your insights about leaky gut which is a new addition to our diet since your program. Our main reason in taking this course was to see if someone with with persistent AFib but with the most excellent lifestyle could defer on anti coagulants. We were just prescribed Eliquis only because Jim will be turning 75. Other than age, we have none of the co morbidities on the CHADS Vasc 2 risk stratification. Our score is 2 only because Jim is 74. He does have a sleep apnea and hypothyroid. Currently on Cpap and thryoid meds. His cardiologist has always charted that "74 year old patient with superb health." Jim's BMI is 20 We have NO added sugars, salt or fats in our meals. We only eat whole foods. We also follow Dr.Essestyn diet advicewhich is whole plant based. The only fats we eat are in walnuts/almonds/avocado/olives, basically any food that's plant based unrefined and whole. We will be using Ezequiel bread instead of grinding our own grains for bread after going through your course to see if there are any positive changes in Jim's Afib. Jim's latest Tread mill test was excellent. My husband went downhill skiing yesterday, generally still doing diamond runs. Per Dr Samjay Gupta (out of the UK) stroke risk is 1:25 in patients that have Atrial Fib. Given our uber lifestyle, is an anti coagulant really necessary? We are assuming that the stroke risk (1:25) in atrial fib is in the usual population eating our usual American SAD diet full of refined sugars, lots of saturated fats etc. Would really appreciate your opinion.
