"I was delayed and turned up late for my car. I did not know that their procedure meant that my car went to someone else and no cars were available until 8 pm, (this was at 3 pm). I decided not to rent from them and went elsewhere but then, upon checking my card statement a few days later, found that I had been charged 29 pounds as a 'no show'! Ho can a company that does not reserve cars for customers, charge them when they fail to show up or are late? Different if the car was lying useless waiting for someone to turn up who never showed but that is not the case. When I arrived at their office, they were arguing with an elderly American couple and insisting that they needed to take our their very expensive excess waiver policy, despite the lady assuring him that their own policy covered all such matters. The couple became exasperated, demanded all the paperwork back that they had signed and tore it up in front of them, then phoned next door to Enterprise Car Hire and went there instead.
