It was supposed to be a very cheap and affordable car rental, but I ended up paying much more. I initially paid £ 17.35 for a 2days rental.
To that, you have to add the insurance. They always put pressure on you at collection time to buy their insurance. The difference is that if you buy from them, you "walk away" if something happens, but if you buy from a third-party, you have to pay the excess and then claim the money back.
They hold a deposit on your credit card and give you the money back if nothing happens to the car.
In this case, I had to buy their insurance and ended up paying £95 (instead of £ 17.35) because they said they had to hold a deposit of £1250.
Of all my years of renting cars, I've never had to give a deposit of more than 800USD, so they made it on purpose to force people to buy their insurance. I had the money in my account but I didn't want to give it to them since from my experience they could hold the money for up to 2 weeks and It was a lot of money.
